Disney Halts Johnny Depp’s ‘Lone Ranger’

Looks like Tonto’s fighting injustice early.

In a surprising “hi-yo” uh oh, Disney decided to shelve its big-screen version of “The Lone Ranger” starring Oscar nominated Johnny Depp alongside up-and-comer Armie Hammer as the titular Texan hero.

Disney had no comment for E!, but word on the studio street has it that budget concerns were the primary reason behind halted production.

At least Depp fans won’t go without, kemo sabe.

The prolific actor recently wrapped “The Rum Diaries”, and will star in the gothic vampire tale “Dark Shadows.” He also plans to make a cameo in the upcoming “21 Jump Street” movie.

High School Musical’s Kenny Ortega To Direct ‘Dirty Dancing’ Redo

Get ready to have the time of your life… again.

According to E! Online, Lionsgate is in the planning stages for a “Dirty Dancing” redo.

Diehard “Dancing” fans consider baby’s iconic corner a historical landmark, and heated mutterings online are creating quite a debate around the new work – some in favor, most not.

The 80s throwback film rests in the spirit-fingered hands of “High School Musical” director and choreographer Kenny Ortega, who has yet to cast the remake, but is reportedly excited by the prospects.

Derek Hough would make one heckuva Johnny.

Just saying.

In addition to all three “High School Musical” movies, Ortega’s director credits also include Michael Jackson’s “This is It,” “Hocus Pocus,” and Disney musical “Newsies,” which starred a young Christian Bale.

Ortega also directed two episodes of the “Dirty Dancing” television series, which aired on CBS in 1988.

Brooke Hogan Bares All For PETA Cagematch

Birthday suits aren’t exactly the stuff of suggested gifts between father and daughter.

Unless you’re the Hogans.

To celebrate dad Hulk hitting the big 5-8, Brooke invited him to the unveiling of a nude photo exhibit at Miami’s Cafeina Lounge on Thursday.

In the black-and-white portrait taken by Jordan Michael Zuniga, the 23-year-old poses completely nude while in a wire cage as a nod to animal cruelty.

Hogan’s portrait is part of a series by Zuniga called “Women in Cages,” with 80 percent of the proceeds from the exhibition going to PETA.

No word as to the Hulk’s reaction, brother.

Brooke Hogan Unveils Nude Photo For Dad’s Birthday

Happy Birthday, Dad, look I’m naked!

In honor of Hulk Hogan‘s 58th birthday, his daughter, Brooke Hogan took him along to witness the unveiling of a nude photo of herself at an art exhibit at Miami’s Cafeina Lounge on Thursday.

The black and white photo was a statement towards animal’s rights.  Brooke was quoted: “I’ve always had a love for animals, and I’ve seen abuse firsthand. It ignited my passion for saving them even more, the worst part is that they are voiceless in our world”.  I must say photographer Jordan Michael Zuniga did an amazing job capturing the ‘Women in Cages’ message.  Even Hulk would have to admit that Brooke looked beautiful.  I’m sure Dad wasn’t upset, at least her goodies were covered.

80% of the proceeds from the exhibition will go to PETA.

Although Brooke stated she knew her photo shoot wasn’t going to be glamorous or pampering, “This cage is really small, it’s really uncomfortable. To put beautiful women in those cages? Well, they got a taste of what it was like to be crammed inside a cage.” she still looked beautiful.  She’s putting her sexy towards a good cause!

Jennifer Lopez Returns To American Idol

Looks like Jenny from the block is making a return to American Idol… for one more season anyway.

E! Online reported that Fox is expected to make the official announcement on Monday.

After the usual back-and-forth that comes with contracts and obscenely large deals in the making, Ryan Seacrest convinced Idol executive producer, Nigel Lythgoe, to confirm the news on air.

Said Lythgoe, “I believe we’re still waiting for the official announcement, but I am delighted to say that all three judges, along with the brilliant host of American Idol, is back for the next season.”

Reps for Fox and Lopez are still not commenting. Fellow judge, Steven Tyler, who is apparently miffed at the fact J Lo’s making mega bucks, isn’t commenting either.

Maddox Jolie-Pitt Not Making Movie

Despite accounts spreading across the internet, Maddox Jolie-Pitt will not be making his big screen debut anytime soon.

Bummer.

Though the 10-year-old son of Brad and Angelina was rumored to play the son of a god in Battling Boy – produced by dad’s production company Plan B – a source reported to Just Jared that the stories are simply “not true.”

As the eldest of six kids, Maddox probably has some serious acting chops. You have to make yourself stand out in a crowd, no?

Battling Boy was originally a graphic novel optioned by Paramount Pictures.

Michael Jackson’s Children Are Stepping Out

When Michael Jackson was alive his children were rarely seen in public.  The times they were they shielded their faces with masks or head coverings to keep their identity a secret and the paparazzi at bay.  Since their father passed away in June 2009 the Jackson children have ventured out in the spotlight a couple of times.  First starting with their on-stage appearance at a memorial service for Michael.

On Monday, August 8th Prince, Paris and Blanket attended a ceremony in their father’s memory at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles to donate some of Michael Jackson’s art which will be displayed around the hospital.

The three Jackson children have also accepted an invite to attend a MJ Tribute Concert in Wales, against their two Uncles judgment.  Their uncles, Jermaine and Randy feel it’s an inappropriate time for a tribute to take place considering the criminal trial will be underway at that time.

Prince, Paris and Blanket are proud of their father.  They want to show their support and try to make a difference.  Although Michael Jackson may not be thrilled with their public appearances, I’d say if he was alive today to see it he would be proud of their intentions.  I believe they are at the appropriate age to no longer stay in hiding.

Prince and Paris have been quoted saying they’d love to follow in their father’s footsteps.  Prince stated “looking at a couple of opportunities in show business — mostly producing” and Paris stated she’d love to be an actress one day.
